These Terms and Conditions explain the rules that apply when you purchase or book ESL Connexus lessons, lesson packages, group classes, on-demand courses, or teacher resources.
Please Read These Terms Before Purchasing
By placing an order, booking an appointment, enrolling in a class, accessing an on-demand course, or downloading a resource, you confirm that you have read and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
When a student is under the legal age required to enter into a contract, a parent or legal guardian must complete the purchase and accept these terms on the student’s behalf.
1. About ESL Connexus and These Terms
ESL Connexus provides online English education, including consultations, private lessons, group classes, on-demand courses, and downloadable teacher resources.
These Terms and Conditions apply to purchases made through ESLConnexus.com, the ESL Connexus Odoo website, an approved booking page, or another approved ESL Connexus payment method.

2. Customer and Parent Responsibilities
Customers must provide accurate information when booking, purchasing, completing a placement test, or creating an account.
A parent or guardian purchasing for a child is responsible for:
- Providing accurate information about the student.
- Making sure the student attends scheduled sessions.
- Providing suitable adult supervision when appropriate.
- Reviewing lesson materials and booking confirmations.
- Making sure the student follows these Terms and Conditions.
Customers must keep account passwords and course-access details secure. Course accounts and lesson bookings must not be shared with another person unless ESL Connexus has given written permission.
3. Prices, Orders, and Payments
Prices
Prices are displayed in US dollars unless another currency is clearly shown. The price displayed at checkout is the price that applies to the order.
Applicable taxes or payment charges may be added when required and will be shown before the customer completes payment.
Payment
Full payment is required before access, enrolment, or lesson credits are provided unless an approved payment plan is clearly shown during checkout.
Payment must be made using an approved payment method available through the ESL Connexus website or provided directly by ESL Connexus.
Order Acceptance
An order is accepted when ESL Connexus sends a payment, booking, enrolment, or access confirmation.
ESL Connexus may refuse or cancel an order when there is an obvious pricing error, suspected fraud, unauthorised payment, product unavailability, or another reasonable operational or legal concern.
When ESL Connexus cancels an order before providing the purchased service or digital access, any payment that must be returned will be handled according to applicable law.
Promotions
Discounts and promotional prices apply only during the stated promotion period. They cannot normally be applied to an earlier purchase.
4. Free Consultation and Placement Test
Free 25-Minute Consultation
New students may begin with one free 25-minute consultation with Teacher Josh.
The consultation is used to discuss the student’s English background, goals, learning needs, schedule, and suitable ESL Connexus options.
The consultation is not a complete English lesson. It does not include lesson materials or a Standard ESL Connexus After-Class Report.
Placement Test
Every new student must complete the ESL Connexus placement test before beginning paid lessons or courses.
A student who is a true beginner does not need to complete the placement test. Teacher Josh will decide whether the true-beginner exception applies.
Course placement is based on the student’s level, age, learning readiness, goals, and curriculum requirements. Completing a placement test does not guarantee acceptance into a specific class or course.
5. Private English Lessons
ESL Connexus offers 25-minute and 50-minute private English lessons with Teacher Josh.
What Is Included
Every paid private lesson includes:
- Live one-to-one online instruction.
- Required class materials provided as PDF or PowerPoint files.
- A Standard ESL Connexus After-Class Report.
- Homework and next-class guidance when applicable.
Lesson Materials
Teacher Josh highly recommends printing class materials, especially for younger students who are developing handwriting and English writing skills.
The customer is responsible for printing the files and preparing any required materials before the lesson.
After-Class Reports
The Standard ESL Connexus After-Class Report records the completed class number out of the total number of classes in the student’s package.
Depending on the lesson, the report may also include:
- Student name, course, attendance, and lesson date.
- Topic and pages studied.
- Reading, speaking, critical-thinking, and overall ratings when those skills were assessed.
- Key vocabulary.
- Lesson discussion and progress notes.
- Homework.
- Next-class focus.
After-class reports are included with paid private lessons. They are not included with the free consultation or on-demand courses.
6. Private Lesson Packages
Private lesson packages currently apply to 50-minute private lessons unless the product description clearly states otherwise.

Using a Package
Students and parents are responsible for booking lessons early enough to complete all lessons before the package expiration date.
A package expiration date continues to apply when the student reschedules a lesson.
Unused lessons remaining after the package expiration date are non-refundable.
Expired lesson credits cannot be transferred to another package or restored, except when ESL Connexus extends the expiration date because Teacher Josh cancelled or moved an affected class.
7. Cancellation, Rescheduling, Lateness, and Missed Lessons
Four-Hour Notice Requirement
A student may cancel or reschedule a live session without being charged when the request is submitted at least four hours before the scheduled start time.
A cancellation or schedule-change request submitted less than four hours before the scheduled start time will be charged in full.
When the student is using a lesson package, one lesson will be deducted from the package.
The four-hour cancellation and rescheduling policy applies without exception.
The deadline is based on the start time and time zone shown in the student’s booking confirmation.
Late Arrival
Teacher Josh will wait no more than:
- 10 minutes for a 25-minute session.
- 15 minutes for a 50-minute session.
After the applicable waiting time, the session will be marked as missed.
A student who joins late may use the remaining scheduled time. The session will still end at the original end time. Missed time will not be added or transferred to another class.
Missed Paid Lessons
Missed paid lessons are charged in full.
A missed lesson cannot be refunded, rescheduled, transferred, or restored to a lesson package.
Changes Made by Teacher Josh
Teacher Josh reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a class at any time when necessary, including at short notice.
When Teacher Josh cancels or moves a paid lesson, the student will not lose the lesson credit. ESL Connexus will arrange another available time.
When necessary, ESL Connexus will extend the package expiration date so that the student has enough time to complete the affected lesson.
8. Group Classes
ESL Connexus group classes may use either 25-minute or 50-minute sessions.
Each group-course page or enrolment confirmation will show the applicable:
- Age group and English level.
- Course purpose and skills covered.
- Session length and number of classes.
- Dates, schedule, and time zone.
- Minimum and maximum enrolment.
- Course materials and price.
- Placement-test requirements.
Minimum Enrolment
Group courses require a minimum number of enrolled students. ESL Connexus will confirm whether the course will run before the course begins.
ESL Connexus may move, combine, postpone, or cancel a group course when the minimum enrolment is not reached or when another operational change is necessary.
Affected customers will be contacted with the available options. Any required refund or remedy will be provided in accordance with applicable law.
Group Attendance
The four-hour cancellation rule and applicable 10-minute or 15-minute waiting period also apply to live group sessions.
A student’s absence does not normally delay the class for the other enrolled students.
9. On-Demand Courses and Digital Products
Course Access
Individual on-demand courses provide 12 months of access from the purchase date.
Three-course bundles provide 18 months of access from the purchase date.
Access ends when the stated access period expires. Access periods do not pause because the student does not use the course.
Included Materials
Each on-demand course contains the learning materials needed to complete that course independently, as described on the course page.
Course materials may include:
- Instructional videos.
- Practice activities.
- Review materials.
- PDF course-text materials.
- Other files identified on the product page.
No Teacher Support
Teacher support is not included with on-demand courses.
On-demand purchases do not include live lessons, personal correction, private feedback, direct teacher support, or Standard ESL Connexus After-Class Reports.
Digital Refund Policy
On-demand courses, downloadable resources, PDFs, PowerPoint files, and other digital products are non-refundable after purchase, except where a refund or remedy is required by applicable law.
Customers must review the age recommendation, English level, course description, included materials, access period, technical requirements, and teacher-support information before purchasing.
Access Problems
Customers should contact ESL Connexus promptly when a technical problem prevents access to a purchased course or file.
ESL Connexus may ask the customer to provide reasonable information needed to investigate the problem, such as the order number, account email, device type, browser, or an image of the error.
Nothing in this section limits a customer’s legal rights when digital content is faulty, inaccessible, or not as described.
10. Teacher Resources and Licence Terms
Purchasing a teacher resource gives the customer a limited licence to use the resource. Ownership of the copyright and intellectual property does not transfer to the customer.
Individual Licence
Unless a product page states otherwise, a teacher resource is sold with an individual-user licence.
An individual licence permits one teacher to use the resource with that teacher’s own students.
School or Multi-Teacher Licence
A school, organisation, or group of teachers must purchase the applicable school or multi-teacher licence.
The approved school or multi-teacher price is generally three times the individual licence price unless another price is clearly displayed.
Prohibited Uses
Customers must not:
- Resell, redistribute, upload, or publicly share an ESL Connexus resource.
- Share an individual licence with other teachers, schools, or organisations.
- Remove copyright, branding, or ownership notices.
- Claim ESL Connexus materials as their own work.
- Upload the materials to a public website, shared drive, marketplace, social-media group, or file-sharing service.
- Copy or adapt the materials for resale or commercial distribution without written permission.
11. Technical Requirements
Customers are responsible for providing:
- A suitable device.
- A reliable internet connection.
- A working microphone, camera, and speakers when needed.
- Software capable of opening PDF and PowerPoint files.
- A supported web browser for accessing online courses.
ESL Connexus is not responsible for missed lesson time caused by the student’s device, internet connection, account access, microphone, camera, or local software.
ESL Connexus will make reasonable efforts to maintain website and course access, but uninterrupted access cannot be guaranteed because maintenance, hosting problems, internet outages, security concerns, or third-party services may affect availability.
12. Intellectual Property
ESL Connexus course videos, reports, PDFs, PowerPoint files, worksheets, activities, website copy, graphics, course structures, and other original materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.
A purchase provides access or a limited licence for the approved educational purpose. It does not transfer ownership of the content or give the customer permission to reproduce, publish, sell, distribute, or commercially exploit it.
Third-party books, curricula, trademarks, and publisher materials remain the property of their respective owners.
13. Appropriate Conduct
Students, parents, and customers must communicate respectfully with Teacher Josh, other students, and ESL Connexus representatives.
Harassment, abusive language, threats, discriminatory behaviour, deliberate disruption, inappropriate content, payment fraud, or unauthorised sharing of course materials may result in removal from a session or suspension of access.
ESL Connexus may suspend or end access when reasonably necessary to protect students, staff, systems, course content, or other customers.
Any refund rights following suspension or termination will depend on the circumstances and applicable law.
14. Educational Results
ESL Connexus provides instruction, materials, and learning opportunities, but does not guarantee fluency, a particular grade, a specific examination score, school admission, employment, promotion, or another individual result.
Student progress depends on factors including attendance, participation, starting level, practice, homework, learning needs, and the amount of time spent using English.
Placement recommendations and progress reports are educational guidance and are not official academic, immigration, employment, medical, or psychological assessments.
15. Changes to Courses and Services
ESL Connexus may update course content, files, activities, lesson organisation, website features, or delivery methods to correct errors, improve learning, maintain security, or respond to technical and operational needs.
ESL Connexus will not intentionally remove the main value of a paid product during its stated access period without providing an appropriate alternative or remedy when required by law.
16. Events Outside Reasonable Control
ESL Connexus is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, widespread internet failure, power failure, government action, illness, platform outages, cyber incidents, or failure of an essential third-party service.
ESL Connexus will make reasonable efforts to communicate with affected customers and restore, move, or continue the service when possible.
17. Liability and Legal Rights
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ESL Connexus is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or a legal remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these Terms removes a customer’s mandatory rights relating to services or digital content that is faulty, not supplied, inaccessible, unsafe, or materially different from its description.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio and the applicable federal laws of the United States of America.
Governing jurisdiction: Ohio, United States of America
The chosen governing law does not remove any mandatory consumer protection that applies in the customer’s place of residence.
Severability
If one part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
No Waiver
A delay in enforcing one part of these Terms does not mean that ESL Connexus permanently gives up the right to enforce it later.
18. Personal Information and Privacy
ESL Connexus may use customer and student information to manage consultations, placement, bookings, payments, lesson records, after-class reports, course access, customer service, and required business records.
Customers must provide only information they are authorised to provide, including information about a child or another student.
Personal-information practices should also be explained in the separate ESL Connexus Privacy Policy.
19. Changes to These Terms
ESL Connexus may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes to services, prices, technology, business operations, or legal requirements.
The version accepted when a customer completes a purchase will normally govern that purchase, unless a later change is legally required or the customer agrees to it.
Updated terms will be published with a new effective date.
20. Questions, Complaints, and Contact
Customers should contact ESL Connexus promptly with a question, access problem, payment concern, or complaint.
Please include the customer’s name, student’s name when relevant, order or booking number, purchase date, and a clear description of the concern.

ESL Connexus will review the information and respond as reasonably soon as possible.

15. Changes to Courses and Services
ESL Connexus may update course content, files, activities, lesson organisation, website features, or delivery methods to correct errors, improve learning, maintain security, or respond to technical and operational needs.
ESL Connexus will not intentionally remove the main value of a paid product during its stated access period without providing an appropriate alternative or remedy when required by law.
16. Events Outside Reasonable Control
ESL Connexus is not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside its reasonable control, including severe weather, natural disasters, war, civil unrest, widespread internet failure, power failure, government action, illness, platform outages, cyber incidents, or failure of an essential third-party service.
ESL Connexus will make reasonable efforts to communicate with affected customers and restore, move, or continue the service when possible.
17. Liability and Legal Rights
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, ESL Connexus is not responsible for indirect, incidental, or consequential loss that was not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability or a legal remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Nothing in these Terms removes a customer’s mandatory rights relating to services or digital content that is faulty, not supplied, inaccessible, unsafe, or materially different from its description.
Governing Law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of Ohio and the applicable federal laws of the United States of America.
Governing jurisdiction: Ohio, United States of America
The chosen governing law does not remove any mandatory consumer protection that applies in the customer’s place of residence.
Severability
If one part of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining parts will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
No Waiver
A delay in enforcing one part of these Terms does not mean that ESL Connexus permanently gives up the right to enforce it later.
18. Personal Information and Privacy
ESL Connexus may use customer and student information to manage consultations, placement, bookings, payments, lesson records, after-class reports, course access, customer service, and required business records.
Customers must provide only information they are authorised to provide, including information about a child or another student.
Personal-information practices should also be explained in the separate ESL Connexus Privacy Policy.
19. Changes to These Terms
ESL Connexus may update these Terms and Conditions to reflect changes to services, prices, technology, business operations, or legal requirements.
The version accepted when a customer completes a purchase will normally govern that purchase, unless a later change is legally required or the customer agrees to it.
Updated terms will be published with a new effective date.
20. Questions, Complaints, and Contact
Customers should contact ESL Connexus promptly with a question, access problem, payment concern, or complaint.
Please include the customer’s name, student’s name when relevant, order or booking number, purchase date, and a clear description of the concern.

Acceptance of These Terms
By completing a purchase, booking a session, enrolling in a course, accessing digital content, or downloading a resource, the customer confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Sale.
