About Term 2
Oxford Discover Level 5 Term 2 continues the second half of the Level 5 course.
Students build on the English developed in the first half of Level 5 while working with increasingly detailed language, texts, questions, and ideas.
Students continue developing:
- Speaking and discussion
- Listening comprehension
- Reading comprehension
- Vocabulary
- Grammar and accuracy
- Pronunciation
- Organized writing
- Critical thinking
- Communication of ideas
Who Should Join Term 2?
Term 2 is designed for students ages 10–13 at approximately B1 level who are ready for the second half of Oxford Discover Level 5.
Students should normally have:
- Completed Oxford Discover Level 5 Term 1 with ESL Connexus
- Completed equivalent Oxford Discover Level 5 material elsewhere, or
- Received ESL Connexus approval to enter Term 2
Students do not need to have completed Term 1 with ESL Connexus if previous study has prepared them for the second half of the course.
New students may need a placement review before payment is requested.
How the Complete Course Works
Oxford Discover Level 5 is offered as a 48-class complete live course:
Term 1: 24 live classes
Term 2: 24 live classes
This event is for Term 2.
Each term is registered and paid for separately.

How Free Registration Works
1. Register free — Reserve a place in Term 2.
2. The group forms — Once at least 3 students have registered, ESL Connexus contacts the families.
3. Placement is confirmed if needed — Students joining directly in Term 2 may need a placement review.
4. Payment requests are sent — Registered families receive their payment information.
5. The group is confirmed — The course opens after at least 3 students have paid.
Maximum group size: 7 students.
Minimum Enrollment Policy
ESL Connexus live group classes require at least 3 paid students to open.
If fewer than 3 students complete payment by the payment deadline, the group will not begin as scheduled.
Families who have already paid may choose one of the following:
- Receive a full refund to the original payment method
- Transfer the payment to another available ESL Connexus group course
- Keep the payment as ESL Connexus account credit for a future live-learning purchase
- Remain on the waiting list for a later start date, if the family agrees
ESL Connexus will not begin the course with fewer than 3 paid students at the published group price.
If a different learning option is available, such as private or semi-private instruction, it will be offered separately with its own confirmed price and only with the family's approval.
