About Unlock Basic Skills Term 2
Unlock Basic Skills Term 2 continues the development of foundational English for teens and adults at beginner level.
Students build on their existing skills through live teacher-led lessons, guided practice, explanations, correction, and feedback.
Term 2 gives students additional practice with reading, writing, vocabulary, listening, and speaking, helping them communicate more clearly and use English with greater independence.

Who Should Join Term 2?
Unlock Basic Skills Term 2 is designed for teens and adults at beginner English level who are ready to continue developing their foundational English skills.
Students may be ready for Term 2 if they:
- Completed Unlock Basic Skills Term 1 with ESL Connexus
- Completed equivalent beginner English study elsewhere, or
- Have received ESL Connexus approval to enter Term 2
Students do not need to have completed Term 1 with ESL Connexus if their previous study has prepared them for Term 2.
Students entering directly into Term 2 may need a placement or course-readiness review before payment is requested.

How the Course Works
Unlock Basic Skills is taught in structured live-group terms.
Term 2 includes 24 live classes.
Each class lasts 50 minutes.
Students register and pay for each available term separately.
This event is for Term 2.

Classes are taught live online in a small group of 3–7 students.

This is a teacher-led live course, not a self-study program.

How Free Registration Works
1. Register Free
Reserve your place. No payment is required today.
2. The Group Forms
Once at least 3 students have registered, ESL Connexus contacts the registered students or families.
3. Course Readiness Is Reviewed if Needed
Students entering directly into Term 2 may need a placement or course-readiness review.
4. Payment Requests Are Sent
Registered students or families receive the appropriate payment request.
5. Complete Payment
Payment finalizes the student's place.
6. The Group Is Confirmed
The course officially opens once at least 3 students have paid.
Maximum group size: 7 students.
Minimum Enrollment Policy
ESL Connexus live group classes require at least 3 paid students to open.
If fewer than 3 students complete payment by the payment deadline, the group will not begin as scheduled.
Students or families who have already paid may choose one of the following:
- Receive a full refund to the original payment method
- Transfer the payment to another available ESL Connexus group course
- Keep the payment as ESL Connexus account credit for a future live-learning purchase
- Remain on the waiting list for a later start date, if the student or family agrees
ESL Connexus will not begin the course with fewer than 3 paid students at the published group price.
If a different learning option is available, such as private or semi-private instruction, it will be offered separately with its own confirmed price and only with the student's or family's approval.
Before the Course Begins
After the group is officially confirmed, ESL Connexus will provide the information students need to begin.
This may include the final class schedule, online class access details, required-material information, and preparation instructions.
Do not purchase materials unless ESL Connexus has confirmed what is required.
