Session length and billing
A 25-minute private lesson is billed as one-half hour. A 50-minute private lesson is billed as one lesson-hour. All hourly rates on this page use this lesson-hour billing system.
Referral rewards and stacking
The new student receives $25 off the first eligible live-learning purchase of at least $140. The referrer receives one $25 ESL Connexus account credit after the qualifying payment is confirmed. One reward applies per new student household.
Credits may accumulate. The Starter and 4-hour packages may use one credit; the 8-, 12-, and 16-hour packages may use up to two credits; and the 20- and 24-hour packages may use up to four credits. Group packages may use one credit on 8 or 12 classes and up to two credits on 24 classes.
Referral credits stack with the published package price, because package savings are already built in. They do not stack with loyalty, sibling, or another percentage discount.
Credits are not cash, are non-transferable, and are cancelled if the qualifying purchase is refunded or cancelled.
Returning-student loyalty discount
After completing the first paid package, a returning student receives 5% off the next eligible package when it is purchased before the current package ends or within 14 days after the final lesson.
The loyalty discount applies to the published package price and cannot be combined with sibling savings, referral credits, or another percentage discount.
Sibling discount
The lower-priced course for each additional sibling receives 10% off. The sibling discount applies to the published package price, but it cannot be combined with loyalty savings, referral credits, or another percentage discount.
Current-student transition pricing
Current students keep their existing price until their active package is fully used. Their next purchase uses the current published pricing and may receive the 5% loyalty discount when eligible.
Previously promised individual arrangements will be honored.
Cancellation, rescheduling, and late arrival
Students may cancel or reschedule without charge at least four hours before the scheduled start time. Changes within four hours are charged in full or one lesson is deducted from the package.
Teacher Josh waits up to 10 minutes for a 25-minute lesson and up to 15 minutes for a 50-minute lesson. A late lesson still ends at its original time.
Package scheduling and expiration
The lesson schedule and package completion period are confirmed before payment. Students should schedule early enough to use all lessons within the agreed period. Unused lessons after expiration are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another package.
Placement assessment
New students complete the ESL Connexus placement assessment before beginning paid study. True beginners may be exempt when Teacher Josh confirms that an assessment is not needed.
Digital courses and resources
On-demand courses, downloadable resources, PDFs, PowerPoint files, and other digital products are non-refundable. Live lessons, personal correction, private feedback, and after-class reports are not included unless the product description specifically states otherwise.
